Chan Sung Jung managed to put away one of the best featherweights on the planet today with relative ease in a performance that has well and truly reinserted his name into the divisional title picture.
If anyone needed a reminder of just how good The Korean Zombie is, he made damn sure to make things crystal clear last night.
It’s easy to forget that Jung could well be 3-0 in the UFC since making his return had Yair Rodriguez not pulled off the hail-mary to end all others during their showdown last year and yet, when the odds were released for his UFC Greenville headliner against Renato Moicano, it was the Brazilian who sat as a favourite.
Jung has been unmissable TV for close to a decade at this point.
The last time he went to a decision was back in 2010, when he and Leonard Garcia gifted WEC viewers with one of the greatest fights of all-time. In the UFC, he has earned seven POTN awards from seven fights and with this win, he could well have re-established himself as a real threat to the title.
A beautifully timed right overhand was what started off the finishing sequence for Jung, something that allowed him to force referee intervention before the opening minute closed.

Since his return after a three-year absence due to mandatory military service in his home country of South Korea, Jung has now amassed a 2-1 record with two first-round KO victories.
