Bellator Dublin Preview: A Brief Look At Paul ‘Redser’ Redmond

No massive showcase in Dublin would be complete without the inclusion of the icon, Paul Redmond, the fifth fighter to be featured as part of our ongoing Bellator Dublin preview.

The idea here is to shine a spotlight on some of the Irish athletes competing in the 3Arena on February 23 – giving you a quick glimpse into a particular highlight from their career.

Pundit Arena MMA will act as your go-to for exclusive interviews, features, and every last piece of info you’ll need to get you set for the biggest night of the year for Irish mixed martial arts.

There is certainly something about Irish MMA that is synonymous with Redser. With four times as many wins on Irish soil as he has losses, he epitomises the term ‘Fighting Irish’ as much as any fighter this country has produced.

Redmond has done it all, having fought in the UFC, Cage Warriors, BAMMA, and KSW but make no mistake, after a successful Bellator debut in 2017 in the Irish capital, he will no doubt be looking to continue this new chapter in same vein.

Facing Charlie Leary just shy of the Bellator 217 main-card, fans can expect to see Redser on the attack from the get-go, fueled by the energy emanating from what promises to be a sold-out event next Saturday night.

Expect this man to flourish from the moment he steps into the arena on February 23 and as always, there’s everything chance we’ll be treated to a volatile affair once he and Leary are locked in there together.

If you’re looking for a vintage Paul Redmond performance to use as an entry point to his electric career, his BAMMA 30 submission victory over Rob Sinclair showed us several of the tools in his arsenal.

Relentless from the off, Redmond genuinely looked like he was having fun in there before catching his man completely off-guard with a peach-perfect knee-bar in the second-round to clinch what was then his tenth victory on home-soil.
