Andrade Slam KO’s Namajunas Out Of Nowhere In UFC 237 Main-Event

Jessica Andrade managed to pull off a phenomenal slam knockout of UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas in the UFC 237 main-event.

And to be honest, it came out of absolutely nowhere after an opening round that Andrade stifled completely.

Those in the commentary booth were left singing the praises of Rose Namajunas after the first round, with Daniel Cormier declaring that she had just put on a ‘masterclass’.

It was true. Rose was countering expertly, outmanoeuvring her Brazilian adversary – and even dropping her to the canvas with a beautifully-timed knee at one point.

And yet, with power like that of Jessica Andrade, all it takes is one perfect moment to see you through and when it came, it left all of us watching at home in shock.

In many ways, it was a much-needed victory for the Brazilian crowd – who had just watched their heroes José Aldo and Anderson Silva succumb to major losses.

With that, the UFC strawweight division crowns another champion.
