Waterford United have confirmed the signing of Cobh Ramblers duo Anthony O’Donnell and Bobbi Donoghue.
O’Donnell, a left back/midfielder and Donoghue who can also slot in as a winger both played schoolboys football for local Cork sides before joining the Rams.
Speaking to waterford-united.ie, O’Donnell spoke of his delight at joining Waterford.
“I’m delighted to be joining the club. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into training and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
Donoghue also reflected with delight on signing for the Blues.
“I’m very happy to have signed for Waterford United,
“It’s a great club and I can’t wait for the season to begin so I can give it my all for the club and give 100% every match for the club and fans.”
O’Donnell and Donoghue made just under 40 league appearances between them last season for Cobh so the loss of two of their up and coming players may be difficult to replace for the Cork side.
For Waterford however, the signing of this duo will help them as they will no doubt be aiming to finish above their poor 7th place finish last term.
