The draw for the quarter-finals of the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup took place live on Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1 this afternoon.
The draw was conducted by Noel King, the Republic of Ireland u-21 international team manager and Fran Gavin, FAI director of competitions.
There are two all-Premier Division ties in the quarter-final draw as last season’s runners-up, Derry City, host Cork City in what looks like the tie of the round. In the other all-Premier Division match-up, reigning league champions Dundalk host Sligo Rovers.
There is also the possibility of a midlands derby in the last eight, as Longford Town could host Athlone Town, should Alan Mathews’ side beat Sheriff YC in a third round replay at Athlone Town Stadium on Monday evening.
Mick Cooke’s Bray Wanderers, who knocked out Bohemians in the third round, will face non-league Killester United.
The Quarter-Final Draw:
Bray Wanderers vs Killester United
Derry City vs Cork City
Longford Town vs Athlone Town/Sheriff YC
Dundalk vs Sligo Rovers
All matches are to be played on the weekend of September 13th.
