Former Sunderland and Cork City striker Roy O’Donovan has found a new club in the form of Indonesian Super League outfit Mitra Kukar.
The 29-year-old has been with several clubs in the last number of years, including Coventry, Northampton Town, Hibernian and most recently Brunei DPMM.
O’Donovan had been training recently with former club Cork City as well as Cobh Ramblers.
Although rumours of a move to the MLS were rife, O’Donovan has now settled with the Super League club.
Speaking to theemeraldexiles.com, O’Donovan had this to say,
“There was a bit of interest from central Europe, there was the chance of something in Malta, clubs in Scotland and League One in England,”
“I had a good season in Brunei last year so the next move needs to be the right one for me. If I make the wrong move now, I could live to regret it.”
Hopefully O’Donovan won’t live to regret the decision he has made and one would be hopeful he can now settle at Mitra Kukar having moved around quite a bit over the last few years.
