The weekend just gone saw a surprisingly large amount of top-class finishes from members of Martin O’Neill’s Ireland squad.
Wingers Robbie Brady and Daryl Horgan have made their mark on their new clubs, while Aiden McGeady gave fans a timely reminder of his capabilities with a star turn for Preston against Brentford. Wes Hoolahan, meanwhile, produced a 35-yard lob against Nottingham Forest with ease, and striker Shane Long maintained his streak with a classy finish for Southampton to round off a 4-0 rout against Sunderland.
But on a weekend where a number of Irish players gave a fantastic account of themselves in England’s top two divisions, whose strike deserves the most adulation?
