Noel King has announced his squad for Ireland’s upcoming fixtures against England C and an English Under-21 select team next month. The LOI will be represented by St. Pat’s and Cork City players.
The first fixture will be against England C on the 1st of June at Eamonn Deacy Park, Galway with a kick-off of 3pm before Ireland take on an England Under-21 select side in St. George’s Park on Friday the 5th of June, also at 3pm.
The League of Ireland is represented by some of the finest young talent available in the league at present with St. Pat’s having two representatives in Sean Hoare and Lee Desmond while Cork City are represented through John Kavanagh.
With both Kavanagh and Hoare having previously played in the under-19 league, they are a positive example of how the underage national set-up is providing a pathway for younger players within Ireland.
All three League of Ireland players included have featured heavily for their sides this term and it will be interesting to see how they can match-up against their Ireland team-mates, who all play their football in either England or Scotland with the exception of Liam Bossin who is on the books at Anderlecht.
