Watch: Ryan Manning Hits Back From Unlucky Own Goal With Powerful Header

It was a day of mixed feelings for Republic of Ireland U-21 international Ryan Manning today as he ended up scoring twice in QPR’s 4-1 victory over Norwich City at Loftus Road this afternoon.

Manning was involved in an unfortunate incident after just eight minutes when an attempted slide tackle led the ball to ricochet off his leg and into the net which was chalked down as an own-goal.

That led to Norwich taking a 0-1 lead but thankfully his side got over that early disappointment to power through the challenge with four goals, the last of which came from the Galway man in the 80th minute.

The ball was crossed into the box and Manning out-jumped his marker to send a header into the far corner of the net which was out of reach for the out-stretching Angus Gunn.

Ryan is fresh off the back of his international exploits with the U-21s where his set-piece ball led to Shaun Donnellan’s 96th-minute winner against Azerbaijan to keep the Boys In Green’s dreams of European Championship qualification alive.
