Cyrus Christie Was Quick To Remind Andre Schurrle Of Best Night In Irish Football

In what will be a boost to the Republic of Ireland, Cyrus Christie will be playing Premier League football next season with Fulham.

The 25-year-old made the switch to Craven Cottage in January earlier this year and he will hope to get some much-needed game time under Slaviša Jokanović in England’s top-tier.

Many eyebrows were raised when it was announced that Fulham has signed Schurrle who has 57 caps for Germany.

The 27-year-old will undoubtedly be the star player for Fulham as they look to establish themselves once again as a Premier League force.

However, any worries that Schurrle’s teammates would be overawed by the new arrival seem to be unfounded as Christie welcomed his new teammate to the club by reminding him of one of the greatest nights in Irish football. That famous 1-0 win over Germany at the Aviva Stadium three years ago.
