Padraig Harrington may have missed the cut on Friday, but there is still plenty of Irish interest in day three of the Irish Open in Ballyliffin.
Harington had led the Irish charge on day one round of -4 in Donegal, but a second round +6 left the three-time major winner 2 over for the weekend and thus outside the cut line at close of play on Friday.
Ryan Fox, Matthieu Pavon and Erik van Rooyen all have a share of the lead at -8 after day two of the Open, with the latter scoring a -7 on Friday to take his place among the leaders.
Simon Thornton and Shane Lowry, meanwhile, are tied for 20th with -2 while Rory McIlroy is tied for 30th at -1 and Graeme McDowell is tied for 48th at evens, while Paul Dunne is way back in tied doe 63rd at +1.
Harrington was not the only Irish casualty on day two, as Neil O’Briain, Darren Clarke, Cian McNamara and Ruaidhri McGee all saw their weekend cut short before the second half.
For day three, below are the times that the remaining Irish entrants will take to the course.
Tee times for Irish competitors on Day 2:
7.47 Thomas Pieters, Paul Dunne
8.37 Adrien Saddier, Graeme McDowell
10.44 Julian Suri, Rory McIlroy
10.53 Richard Sterne, Simon Thornton
11.35 Shane Lowry, Alexander Bjork
