Remembering The Handicaps For GAA Stars Ahead Of Last Year’s Irish Open

GAA golf handicaps

With the disappointing but understandable news that this year’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, which was set to be held at the exquisite Mount Juliet course in Kilkenny, has been cancelled, we’ve decided to take a look back at last year’s Pro-Am which took place on the eve of the main event in Lahinch, Co. Clare.

A whole host of Irish sporting stars took to the famous west Clare course and the tournament organisers posted the respective handicaps for each of the guest players which certainly makes for interesting reading.

You can find the original article from last year below and the associated handicaps of the various Irish sporting stars past and present.

All eyes are on Lahinch, Co. Clare this week as the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open tees off on Thursday.

There will be no shortage of world-class golfers on display with Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood, Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer, Thorbjorn Olesen, Danny Willett, Jon Rahm, Louis Oosthuizen and Ian Poulter just some of the names taking part.

Of course, the Pro-Am tees off on Wednesday as a host of Irish sporting stars pair up with a professional in what should be an entertaining day of golf.

Hurling stars Cian Lynch, Joe Canning and Shane O’Donnell are paired with Shane Lowry.
