Shane Lowry Sinks Stunning Putt To Take The Lead At The Open

Shane Lowry is top of the leaderboard at the Open Championship in Royal Portrush.

The Offaly man has had two brilliant days at the prestigious tournament. Lowry shot an impressive 67 on the course in Antrim on Thursday, to leave himself one behind overnight leader J.B. Holmes on -4.

He followed that round with an excellent showing on Friday afternoon.

Lowry is leading the Championship on -10, -6 for the day. He recorded three birdies in the first three holes in Portrush, and birdies on the fifth, eighth and 10th holes.

Lowry sank this stunning putt on the 10th to move to -10 and take the lead outright.

The Irishman is currently two shots clear of Holmes with six holes to play on his second round.
