The Wexford V Kilkenny Hype Train Is Now Full Steam Ahead

Tickets are like gold dust for this one…

Wexford will welcome Kilkenny to Innovative Wexford Park for the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship semi-final on June 10 and excitement around the county for the fixture is scaling new heights.

Davy Fitzgerald Wexford Hurling

Having beaten the Cats in the National Hurling League quarter-final in Nowlan Park after successfully securing promotion to Division 1A, there is almost an expectancy that the Yellowbellies will repeat the feat this time around at home in the championship.

The Davy Fitz revolution in Wexford has seen faith restored in the county’s hurlers after many a barren year recently. Although Fitzgerald himself is serving a twelve-week touchline ban for his role in the fracas on the field when his side played Tipperary in the league semi-final, we have no doubt that the well renowned ‘Davy factor’ will spur his players on in a fortnight, just as it did against Laois last weekend when his side put in a commmanding display.

The ‘Davy factor’ has certainly gripped the imagination of the Model County supporters.

Thousand lined the streets of Wexford early this morning to get their hands on tickets.

It didn’t matter who you are!

It wasn’t long before the Wexford County Board had to tweet this out:

A full house on Saturday week is expected, along with a cracking atmosphere.

Queues flooded the streets outside and around Wexford Park this morning before the tickets went on sale at 9 am, with Gardaí present to control the crowds.

With demand so high, tickets were served on a first come first served basis in Wexford, where as Kilkenny will distribute their tickets through their clubs.
