Leicester city winger Riyad Mahrez was pitted against Monaghan football star Conor McManus in a keepy-uppy contest, which included a hurling challenge.
Mahrez, who has been subject to intense transfer speculation linking him to Arsenal could yet undergo a radical career change and line out as a hurler.
McManus and Mahrez were tasked with keeping the ball off the floor using a soccer ball, a rugby ball, a Gaelic football and a hurley and sliotar.
The Algerian international had the edge over the Monaghan star in both the soccer and the Gaelic football challenge but McManus displayed composure to take the win in both the rugby and the hurling.
Mahrez put up a fine score using the hurley and sliotar for a man who thought it was a cricket bat. However, McManus was quick to respond, stating that it was in fact a hurley he had in his hand.
When the total scores were totted up McManus came out on top. However, it was his quick response to Mahrez, letting the PFA Player of the Year know that it was in fact hurling he was playing, that impressed us the most.
We’ll forgive Riyad this time.
