WATCH: Crucial Conor McManus Goal As Monaghan Pip Cavan To Reach Ulster Semi-Final

Monaghan defeated Cavan 1-15 to 0-15 in the fourth Ulster SFC quarter-final. The crucial score came in the 59th minute when Conor McManus scored the crucial goal with a smart finish.

There was a dramatic finish to the game as Cavan nearly forced a replay, hitting the post with a 75th minute goal chance.

The Breffni led by two at the break, but Monaghan, without being at their best, got over the line.

However, McManus showed why he is regarded as one of the top forwards in the country with this super finish

Monaghan were able to withhold late pressure to see out the win and reach another Ulster semi-final. Cavan’sRyan Connolly hot the upright with a snap-shot with the last kick of the game, as Monaghan held on the big win, who had Rory Beggan stand out with some great scores.

Late points from Owen Duffy and Conor McCarthy sealed the win.

The Ulster semi-final draw now see Monaghan play Down and Tyrone face Donegal. For Cavan, it’s the qualifiers.
