Twitter Reacts To Tipperary’s Historic Win Over Cork

Tipperary claimed their first senior football championship win over Cork since 1944.

Although Tipperary have invested heavily in establishing themselves as a footballing force in recent years, few would have given them a chance against Cork this afternoon.

Nevertheless, history was made this afternoon, after Kevin O’Halloran kicked two late points, one from a 45 and another from a free,  to claim a famous win for the premier county.

First half goals from Conor Sweeney and Michael Quinlivan, gave Tipperary a commanding 2-7 to 0-6 point lead at half time.

Although the Rebels managed to draw level as the game came to a conclusion, O’Halloran’s late scores sealed a historic win for Tipperary.
