Triple Header Confirmed For Thurles This Weekend

After the draw was made this morning for the second round of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship qualifiers, Clare are set to face Limerick while Cork play Wexford.

The GAA have announced that these two games will be part of a triple header in Semple Stadium, Thurles, where Cork will play Limerick in football.

Cork vs Limerick in football will be first up at 3pm. This will be followed by Cork vs Wexford in the hurling at 5pm, before League champions Clare face Limerick at 7pm.

Limerick vs Clare is the standout fixture of the day. Although the Treaty knocked the Banner out of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship in 2015, the pendulum has swung, and Davy Fitzgerald’s side will go in as hot favourites.

Wexford will be looking to gain revenge against the Rebels who knocked them out of the qualifiers last year, but will need to drastically improve. Cork were promising at times as they beat Dublin by three points on Saturday evening in Páirc Uí Rinn, and will be eager to build on the victory.
