As is well documented by now, Wexford manager, Davy Fitzgerald is serving an eight week touchline ban for his role in the on-field dramatics at Nowlan Park during his side’s league semi-final loss to Tipperary back in April.
The question remains ahead of this Saturday’s Leinster SHC semi-final clash with Kilkenny, where will Davy be watching the game from?
Fitzgerald took up a position in the stand for Wexford’s win in their championship opener over Laois in O’Moore Park last month.
The Independent have reported that there has been a special “box within a box” built in Innovative Wexford Park to accommodate the Model County boss as he sees out the remainder of his suspension. The box to house Davy for the huge clash with the Cats is said to be in the press box area of the stadium, granting him a bird’s eye view of the playing field.
We would suspect that the former Clare and Waterford bainisteoir will have some method of communication with his players on the pitch at his disposal throughout the game against Brian Cody’s side.
Following on from these two side’s enthralling encounter at the quarter-final stage of this spring’s league in which Fitzgerald’s charges came out on top, the hype for this weekend’s championship battle has been building at a ferocious pace.
With Wexford Park a complete sellout, an awesome atmosphere is expected on Saturday.
