Ronan Maher is the undisputed champ of the sideline cut, after tonight’s display!
Tipperary and Limerick met in Semple Stadium this evening, with a spot in next weekend’s Allianz Hurling League final on the line.
At the end of normal time, the two sides couldn’t be separated, ending 0-26 apiece. It headed for extra-time, as the Treaty continued to come back from four/five-point deficits throughout.
While there were some remarkable scores on display, perhaps the standout points came from Ronan Maher. The Thurles Sarsfields clubman scored three from play, and crucially nailed two from line balls.
The first came from the right wing in the first half under the New Stand in the early exchanges.
If the first was impressive, the second was simply outrageous. From about 80 yards from the goal, he struck the ball into the town end, and it curled beautifully over the bar. Just check out the second angle!
An exhibition of striking!
