The Leinster Championships get under way this weekend, and Kevin Boyle previews Offaly’s clash with Wicklow.

What: Leinster GAA Football Senior Championship – Round 1

Who: Offaly v Wicklow

Where: O’Moore Park, Laois

When: Sunday, May 13th – 4pm

This is one of the more straight forward games of the weekend. Offaly weren’t overly impressive in their league campaign but did just enough to secure Division 3 football for another year.

They should have enough in hand to register a comfortable victory over Wicklow.

Wicklow meanwhile have failed to make inroads in their own recent campaigns and were knocked out of the All Ireland after two consecutive defeats in last year’s Championship.

They went the entire league campaign without scoring and their lack of quality forwards is set to cost them dearly again on Sunday.

Prediction: Offaly to comfortably beat Wicklow.
