The Allianz National Hurling League is nearly upon us, as a feast of inter-county hurling is set to envelop the spring.
Reigning League and All-Ireland champions Galway are still in Division 1B, after losing to Wexford on the second week last year. They will be battling it out with Limerick, Dublin, Offaly, Laois and Antrim in the coming weeks, as they aim to gain promotion back to the top tier.
Meanwhile, Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford side will attempt to maintain their Divison 1A status in their first year back at the top, with Tipperary, Waterford, Cork, Clare and Kilkenny all in contention.
It promises to be an absorbing contest, with the top four from each table going through to the quarter-finals.
The big question is if the Tribesmen can retain their crown? Or can the Premier gain revenge for their losses in the 2017 All-Ireland semi-final and League final? Can the Déise, Yellowbellies, Banner, Cats or Rebels claim the silverware? With the last three winners coming from 1B, Dublin and Limerick might also fancy their chances.
We want to know who you think will win the Allianz National Hurling League. Let us know in the poll below…
