Watch: Paul Mannion Rattles The Net To Get Dublin Off To Flier In Castlebar

Dublin are in Castlebar tonight as they become reacquainted with old foes Mayo. Of course, recent All-Ireland final clashes and last year’s Allianz League drubbing will have been playing on the mind of Stephen Rochford’s side all week, but the Dubs got off to the perfect start through Paul Mannion.

The Kilmacud Crokes star stole in behind the Mayo rearguard to rattle the net with a cracking shot.

In an ultra-competitive forward division, starting places are going to be harder to come by than ever before given the emergence of Brian Howard and the impending return of Con O’Callaghan. If Mannion keeps on scoring goals like this, he’ll have no problem holding onto a starting jersey.

After three wins in their opening three games, Jim Gavin’s side will be eager to claim another two points as they edge closer to securing a final berth. Meanwhile, a win over their old rivals would be a serious message ahead of the summer.
