Tomás Ó Sé Rolls Back The Years As Nemo See Off Slaughtneil After Extra-Tme

While Corofin’s win over Moorefield last week wasn’t overly memorable, the other semi-final today between Nemo Rangers and Slaughtneil was the polar opposite.

The Derry outfit took an early lead, and looked like they would take control of the tie with ruthless efficiency. However, the Cork champions mounted a spirited fightback, featuring two points from Kerry legend Tomás Ó Sé and a goal from Luke Connolly to take a four-point lead.

However, Slaughtneil came back once again, as the tie finished 1-12 apiece at the end of normal time.

In extra-time, Nemo came out of the blocks quicker, as they rattled off the first seven points. The momentum was too much for their Ulster opponents, as Nemo booked their tickets to Croke Park with a 2-19 to 1-14.

The city club came in for huge plaudits, with particular praise for Ó Sé who rolled back the years with a powerful display.
