Carlow’s Brendan Murphy Hits Out At ‘Disrespectful’ Robert Pigott Social Media Post

The fallout Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 4 final between Laois and Carlow continues.

Laois sealed the league title and a return to Division 3 with a 0-15 to 0-11 victory over Laois despite a battling second-half comeback from the losing finalists – and Brendan Murphy has taken to social media to denounce the conduce of Laois back Robert Pigott.

More accurately, rather, the Rathvilly midfielder took issue with an Instagram post from Pigott after the match, referencing his allegedly unsportsmanlike bahaviour during both Sunday’s match and the league clash between the two sides at Dr. Cullen Park last weekend:



“This man mauled me for 2 solid games, was taken off the first day because he got a yellow for persistent fouling, didn’t want to play football, was on the winning team, yet he feels the need to put this on social media, disrespectful to say the least.”

The Instagram post has since been altered to remove any mention of Murphy:
