The Tyrone County Board did not extend Mickey Harte’s term as manager last night.
As a number of clubs in Tyrone were set to propose that Mickey Harte be given a further three years as manager of the county’s footballers, it was expected that such news would emerge from a county board meeting last night.
However the Irish Independent has reported that this was not the case, as delegates agreed to make a decision at next month’s county board meeting, following a briefing with each of the county’s inter-county managers.
The legendary manager has already made it clear that he would like to remain on as Tyrone boss, and stated that it would be ‘nice’ to receive some clarity over his future from the County Board.
The uncertainty over Harte’s future comes after Tyrone were defeated by Kerry in the All Ireland Semi Final.
