Mickey Harte is to stay on as Tyrone boss for the next three years it has been revealed on Tuesday night.
The Errigal Ciarán club man will now stay on after speculation around his future at the helm following Tyrone’s exit from this year’s championship.
Big vote of confidence. Mickey Harte will continue to manage Tyrone for next 3 years. Big statement. pic.twitter.com/vGIObE1euT

While some may have seen a change in management coming ahead of 2018, Harte will hope to use what is more than likely going to be his final term in the hot seat to bring Tyrone back to the top.
There may have been calls for a fresh impetus at senior level but having been the only man to mastermind All-Ireland victories (three between 2003 and 2008) for the O’Neill County one can see why the decision was made to keep him on.
After being comprehensively beaten by Dublin in this year’s All-Ireland semi-final, however, the drawing board will certainly be needed throughout the winter to see where Tyrone must change in order to again challenge for Gaelic football’s Holy Grail.
