Mayo Dealt With Two Injury Concerns Ahead Of All-Ireland Final Replay

Mayo and Dublin must do it all over again on Saturday week after the two sides played out a pulsating draw in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final on Sunday. Cillian O’Connor pointed for the Connacht side in the 77th minute to bring the tie a replay, and now Jim Gavin and Stephen Rochford return to the drawing board ahead of Saturday week.

Despite the game being somewhat low-scoring, particularly in the first half, it was an exciting affair with both sides going for the win.

It is likely that both managers will come up with something new to counteract the opponent’s style. All we know is that Saturday, October 1 can’t come quickly enough.

However, Rochford is sweating on the fitness of two of his forwards, as Alan Dillon and Evan Regan are being monitored.

Both came off the bench in the second half, but suffered injuries. Dillon suffered a foot injury, while Regan was involved in a clash of heads late on.

Both players are doubts for the replay, and their fitness will be monitored in the build-up.

Cillian O’Connor’s injury is not believed to be serious.
