Man In Jeans Runs Onto Pitch & Swings Hurley At Paul Galvin, Riot Ensues

An unnamed man in jeans ran onto the field of play and tried to attack Paul Galvin during Lixnaw’s clash with Kilmoyley in Kerry.

Galvin was playing for his local hurling club Lixnaw, when the intruder made a beeline for the Kerry star at the start of the second half. The man apparently took a swing at Galvin’s head with a hurley and a riot erupted. A number of hurleys went flying before the man in question was taken away by Gardaí.

Galvin received a booking for the incident, but it is unclear what provoked the attack.

Galvin is in the blue jersey with the black helmet.
