The Leinster Club Football Final Has Been Rescheduled Due To Weather Conditions In Portlaoise

The Leinster club senior football final between Kildare champions Moorefield and Westmeath rulers St. Loman’s of Mullingar has been called off due to inclement weather conditions in Portlaoise.

The game was supposed to take place at O’Moore Park today, but as was the case in much of the country, there was heavy snowfall in Portlaoise last night and the pitch was covered in a thick blanket – making for some wonderful photos but less than ideal playing conditions.

As a result, the provincial decider has been pushed back to next Sunday, the 17th of December. The venue remains unchanged. Throw-in is scheduled for 2 p.m.

St. Loman’s booked their place in the final with a two-point win over Meath champions Simonstown Gaels at TEG Cusack Park in Mullingar on the 26th of November. On the same day, Moorefield overcame Wicklow champions Rathnew, who had previously dumped Dublin rulers St. Vincent’s out of the competition, by six points in the other semi-final at Joule Park in Aughrim.
