Nemo Rangers won through to the All-Ireland semi-final, after upsetting reigning champions Dr Crokes in today’s Munster decider.
Luke Connolly bagged ten points as the Cork outfit had too much for the reigning All-Ireland champions, in a victory that was deserved from start to finish. In fact, Nemo had dominated proceedings to such a degree that the scoreline arguably flattered Dr Crokes.
Time and time again, the city club’s forwards ran in on goal, and were it not for some brave defending and remarkable saves from ‘keeper Shane Murphy, the result could have been much grimmer from the visitor’s perspective.
Many who had tipped the Kerry club to progress were left red-faced, not least the bookmakers. Nemo Rangers were classed as outsiders, with some bookies offering odds of 3/1 shortly before throw-in.
However, the seven-time All-Ireland champions tore up the script. Former Nemo and Cork marksman James Masters took to Twitter following the result to express his delight at the bookmakers getting the result so wrong.
Nemo 11/4😂 to win today. The bookies should of looked at d 2 teams line up..This was no way a shock! #NemoAbú

Nemo now march on to face Slaughtneil who won the Ulster Championship today. While the Derry outfit are likely to head into the tie as favourites, today showed that the underdogs tag suits Nemo right down to the ground.
