Intercounty Hurling Is Returning Before New Years Eve This Year

The Munster Senior Hurling League fixtures have been announced.

Winter and gaelic games aren’t always the best match, as was evidenced this weekend as the two highest profile games were postponed in Portlaoise and Ruislip.

However, with the earlier start for the National Leagues in 2018, this pushes back the pre-season tournaments. Today, the Munster Senior Hurling League was launched, with only Clare, Limerick, Cork and Kerry taking part. Tipperary have elected to sit out the tournament once again, and this year Waterford will act likewise.

It has been announced that the opening round of games will take place in December, with the final scheduled for the week before the National Hurling League gets underway.

Cork won the 2017 Munster Hurling League, beating Limerick in the final. While few will argue this holds much significance come Championship in the summer, it is an opportunity for managers to have a look at new players ahead of League.

Sunday, 07/01/2018 (Round 2):
