Tipperary are expected in some quarters to go on and win another All-Ireland this year, but the Premier County were certainly brought back down to earth by Galway on Sunday and will need to now reassess ahead of the Munster Championship.
Going in six points ahead at half-time Galway were expected to experience some form of pushback from Tipp but in truth it never really came and a Jason Flynn goal just after the break set in motion a massive win for the Tribesmen.
Flynn’s second goal with just over ten minutes to go was, however, the real clincher and there was no way back from there for the Munster county.
As expected, the reaction on Twitter has been one of shock more than anything else at just how comprehensive Galway’s win was in the end.

So much for received wisdom that Tipperary are a good step ahead of the rest. The chasing pack just caught up. #AllianzLeagues
