As we know by now, All-Ireland Semi-Final day sees Mayo take on Tipperary in Croke Park. We all know how GAA sticks with people whether in Ireland or abroad and ahed of today’s game, two big Irish sportsmen have taken to Twitter to get behind their teams.
Shane Long may well be better known for being on fire to Irish soccer (football) fans but he played minor hurling for Tipperary in 2003 and is behind the Premier county again today ahead of their first All-Ireland Football Semi-Final since 1935.

Meanwhile the man known as ‘Zinedine’ Kilbane tweeted his excitement at being on BBC’s Match Of The Day tonight but was quick to point out that a bigger game was to be played first on Sunday. Kevin Kilbane is behind the Green and Red of Mayo today and even managed to join the ‘Mayo For Sam’ bandwagon.

So now matter how far Irish people are away from home, the GAA roots still shine through on the big day.
