The Draw For The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Qualifiers Has Been Made

The draw for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship qualifiers has been made this morning, which was live on RTÉ Radio 1’s Morning Ireland.

Despite an impressive march to the National Hurling League title, Davy Fitzgerald and Clare were dumped out of the Munster Championship by Waterford. However, they must rise again as they hope to repeat the heroics of 2013 by navigating a path back to Croke Park through the back door. They have been pitted against a Laois side who are on a low ebb. The Banner will be expected to account for the Cheddar Plunkett’s side.

Elsewhere, following drubbings at the hands of Tipperary, Cork and Limerick are left licking their wounds, and have been drawn against Dublin and Westmeath respectively.

Wexford were drawn at home to Offaly.

Cork vs Dublin in Páirc Uí Rinn is undoubtedly the tie of the round. The main talking point will be the return of Ger Cunningham to Cork.

The two sides have not met in the Championship since the famous 2013 All-Ireland semi-final, when the Rebels ran out winners after Ryan O’Dwyer was sent off for the Dubs.

Draw for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship qualifiers:

Clare vs Laois.

Wexford vs Offaly.

Cork vs Dublin.

Westmeath vs Limerick.

(Home teams first).

Times, dates and venues will be confirmed later.
