Meath And Antrim Disagree Over Date Of Christy Ring Cup Final Replay

Meath lifted the Christy Ring Cup on Saturday in Croke Park, but will they have to play for it again?

The CCCC decided on Tuesday that the replay of the Christy Ring Cup final will be on Saturday evening in Newry. While the result of the original match was shrouded in controversy, perhaps the GAA felt this was the fairest settlement.

However, Meath GAA are unhappy with this arrangement. With the players believing that they had secured promotion to the top tier of hurling, they probably celebrated accordingly, and now must resettle in time for the replay.

However, Antrim have stated their intention to fulfill the fixture on Saturday night, as delaying the replay would impact their Ulster Senior Hurling Championship campaign.
