Following wins for Kilkenny and Tipperary over Wexford and Limerick respectively this weekend, the two traditional giants of hurling will face off in next weekend’s Allianz League final.
The two old foes reacquainting themselves promises to be a cracker. Even if their great modern championship clashes are to be disregarded, their clashes in league finals in recent years have been enthralling. The deciders in 2003, 2009, 2013 and 2014 between the Cats and the Premier were all decided by a single score.
It has been announced this evening that the decider will take place in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny on Sunday April 8 at 15:30.
The tie will be packaged as a doubleheader, with Cork and Kilkenny facing off in the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League Division 1 final at 13:30.
Both games will be broadcast live on TG4.
Roll on next Sunday!
