Dates, Times & Venues Confirmed For Fitzgibbon & Sigerson Cup Quarter-Finals

Some of the top players in the country are involved in the latter stages of the third-level tournaments.

The Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Cups are among the favourites for the GAA purist. While teams traditionally play more attacking football and hurling they are also familiar faces starring, it makes for a fantastic spectacle.

It also gives an opportunity for lesser known players to rise to the occasion – like Mary I’s Gary Cooney who hit two late points to ensure the Limerick college progressed at the expense of NUI, Galway.

The hurling championship will also see a litany of talent on the field when the University of Limerick take on University College Cork.

Both teams are packed with inter-county talent and this is one of the games that people will be looking forward to.

Both UL and UCC are in the last eight in both the Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cups – with Dublin trio DIT, DCU and UCD also in the quarter-finals in both codes.

All quarter-finals take place next week, between Tuesday and Thursday.

The Fitzgibbon Cup final is on February 24 in Mallow, while the Sigerson decider is in Santry Avenue on February 17.
