Cora Staunton is without a doubt the most recognised name in ladies Gaelic football – she may be one of Ireland’s best-known female athletes.
Time and time again she shows her class with Mayo as she has also won an incredible 15 Connacht titles for her club Carnacon who have a near monopoly on the Mayo ladies football championship.
Well, she was at it again this Sunday afternoon as her side lined out in another provincial decider. Carnacon took on Kilkerrin/Clonberne but the sides could not be separated in an epic 5-17 to 6-14 draw.
Staunton played her part in what will go down as an instant classic, scoring a reported 4-14 of her side’s total (although her exact tally is disputed).
42 scores in the match. some scoring for a football match and cora Staunton getting 3-13 must be a record
her aussie wages should increase

However, as Emma Duffy points out, her exact tally is beside the point, this was an incredible effort from Staunton, who is due to play Aussie Rules next year.
3-13 or 4-14, whichever it was. Jesus Christ. There are no words for Cora Staunton

The sides will have to meet again for the replay but if Staunton can reproduce the form she has shown time and time again, she could be in line for a ridiculously impressive 16th Connacht medal.
