Watch: Con O’Callaghan Black Carded For Tip-Tackle In U21 Semi-Final

Con O'Callaghan

Dublin and Donegal are facing off in the semi-final of the u21 All-Ireland Football Championship. While Declan Bonner’s Donegal side boast several senior stars, the Boys in Blue are slight favourites to progress to the decider.

Arguably the highest profile member of Dessie Farrell’s side is Con O’Callaghan. The Cuala man helped his club to the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day, and was a member of Jim Gavin’s senior squad last year as they retained the Sam Maguire.

Naturally, there were many eyes on O’Callaghan going into today’s semi-final, but he was sent from the park early for a black card offence early in the game.

An off the ball rugby-style tip tackle was spotted by the referee, and O’Callaghan can have little complaint.
