Carlow are out of the bottom division of the Allianz National Football League for the first time in 33 years. Turlough O’Brien’s side have backed up a remarkable summer campaign from 2017, as they’ve won six games out of six.
After beating Antrim 1-12 to 0-12 today, they have now secured their spot in Division 3 for 2019, and they’ll also play in the Division 4 final in the coming weeks, most likely against Laois.
Ahead of their Leinster Championship opener with Louth, Carlow are building real momentum.
There were jubilant scenes at fulltime and on the team bus back, on what was one of the greatest days in living memory for Carlow football.
ITβs ALL OVER

Perhaps the most poignant summary of the achievement came from Brendan Murphy, after years of plugging away with the county.
This is for everyone, our families, friends and the men who soldered for so many years in the Carlow jersey for all the years in the darkness, with no reward, mark my words we are going to enjoy this one, we are Carlow β€οΈππ

We’re sure they’ll enjoy the celebrations!
