Adrian Mullen Out Of All-Ireland Clash With Tipperary

Kilkenny’s All-Ireland title aspirations have dealt a blow with the news that forward Adrian Mullen has been forced to withdraw.

According to a report in the Irish Independent, the Ballyhale Shamrocks man is not expected to play any part in today’s highly-anticipated final in Croke Park and will be instead replaced by Billy Ryan or Richie Leahy.

The same report explains how Mullen had been hospitalised in the days that led up to the match’s original date as a result of a yet-to-be-confirmed illness.

Mullen is currently Kilkenny’s third top scorer of the 2019 championship having registered 1-13 in his opening season.

The 20-year-old is the current front-runner for Young Hurler of the Year following his impressive performances and the award would top a stellar season for Mullen after winning his first Club All-Ireland medal with Ballyhale back in March.

Throw-in at Croke Park for the All-Ireland final is 3.30pm.
