Stars Lead Tributes To Kerry Legend Declan O’Sullivan

Kerry legend Declan O’Sullivan has retired from inter-county football, bringing an end to one of the most successful footballing careers in the modern era.

The Kerry star won five All Irelands with the Kingdom and tasted All Ireland defeat on three further occasions. These successes were punctuated by six Munster Championships and three National Football League titles.

O’Sullivan made his senior debut in 2003, and will bow out at the top level of the game, having raised the Sam Maguire in September. He had struggled with injuries towards the end of his career, but the success over Donegal afforded the Dromid Pearses man the opportunity to say goodbye with another medal in his pocket.

This site published a hugely successful article entitled ‘Declan O’Sullivan: The Man Who Would Be King’ earlier in the year, and tributes have been pouring in for the forward since his decision to retire went public.
