David Gough Will Referee All Ireland Final Between Dublin & Kerry

the sunday game

David Gough will referee his first All Ireland final on September 1st when he takes to Croke Park for Dublin’s clash with Kerry in the Sam Maguire decider.

Gough had been the front-runner to be named in the middle for the game and Cahair O’Kane of the Irish News confirmed the news on Wednesday morning.

Conor Lane and Barry Cassidy have been named as linesmen for the decider while Sean Hurson will be the fourth official in Croke Park.

There had been some apprehension from the Kerry side about Gough’s appointment due to his links Dublin, where he resides and teaches in Terenure primary school as well as being the GAA education and development officer in the DCU St Patrick’s campus in Drumcondra.

Regardless of this, Gough will be the man to referee Dublin’s quest for five in a row on September 1st.
