Kieran Donaghy has taken his first steps into management with Tralee IT with former Kerry teammate Aidan O’Mahony named on his coaching ticket.
Donaghy has been appointed joint-manager alongside Liam Brosnan who has been at the helm for the last two years. Former All-Star O’Mahony is due to come on board as a selector where he will be joined by Clive O’Callaghan, Eoin O’Shea and Joby Costello.
The former Footballer of the Year makes the move into management following a stint with Galway hurlers last year where he worked as a performance coach.
“I am very excited by the challenge ahead, it’s my first venture into management and I learned a lot working with the Galway hurlers last year. IT Tralee is a great asset to the county and the facilities are fantastic.
“I can’t wait to work with an amazing bunch of players and I hope we can represent the Institute as best we can.”
The two former All-Stars will have no shortage of talent to work with in the Kerry-based college as current Kingdom stars, Gavin Crowley, David Clifford and Dara Moynihan are all studying at the college.
