Corofin duo Ian Burke and Liam Silke return to the Galway starting XV for this weekend’s trip to Ruislip where they will face London in the opening round of the Connacht Championship.
Kevin Walsh had to make do without the Corofin contingent throughout the Allianz Football League as they powered their way to a second All-Ireland club title in a row.
The two men featured for Galway in their opening league game against Cavan but have not played for the Tribesmen since. Silke will start at right half-forward while 2018 All-Star, Burke, will line out in his familiar role at right corner-forward.
Ruairí Lavelle starts in goal with Eoghan Kerin Seán Andy Ó Ceallaigh and David Wynne making up the full-back line.
There is one debutant for Galway in the half-back line. Silke is joined by Mountbellew-Moylough’s John Daly at centre-back with Gary O’Donnell named on the other wing.
John Daly’s brother, Michael, starts at midfield where he will be partnered by Thomas Flynn.
Kevin Walsh has named the other two debutants in the half-forward line. Antaine Ó Laoi lines out at wing-forward alongside Headford man Padraic Cunningham at centre-forward with the versatile Johnny Heaney joining the two debutants in the half-forward line.
Ian Burke is joined in the full-forward line by Shane Walsh who is named at the unfamiliar role of full-forward in Damien Comer’s absence with Danny Cummins taking his place at left corner-forward.
