The GAA has today confirmed that O’Moore Park in Portlaoise will play host to Saturday’s All-Ireland U20 hurling semi-final and football final with both games being televised live on TG4.
At 2 pm Cork face Kilkenny in their final four clash before the football decider takes centre stage at 4 pm with the meeting of Dublin and Cork.
Following this, the second All-Ireland U20 hurling semi-final between Wexford and Tipperary which takes place in Nowland Park at 1.45 pm on Sunday will also be televised by TG4.
Following an epic weekend of senior action in Croke Park, we now know that Kilkenny and Tipperary will meet in the final for the sixth time in ten years after defeating Limerick and Wexford respectively.
However, both Brian Cody and Liam Sheedy will be keeping a close eye on this weekend’s U20 hurling action considering the number of panel members involved in both sides. Jake Morris was sprung from the bench by Sheedy yesterday to great effect as he nailed the insurance point that won the game for Tipperary. He is a member of the U20 panel alongside Jerome Cahill.
Meanwhile, Kilkenny have a star of their own who is currently double-jobbing. AIB Club Hurler of the Year, Adrian Mullen, played a blinder in Croke Park on Saturday and will be back in action this weekend for the U20s.
There is one other game in the U20 grade this weekend as Down face Kerry in the All-Ireland U20 hurling B final in Páirc Tailteann.
