Watch: RTE To Air Fascinating Documentary On Jason Sherlock

RTE have treated us to some brilliant sporting documentaries this year but they are not finished yet as a programme on the life of Jason Sherlock is set to air later this week.

‘Jayo’ will take you through the life of the revered Dublin footballer, addressing the racism he suffered as a child, his understanding of his heritage and of course, his football career.

Sherlock made his debut for the Dublin seniors in 1995, the year they won the All Ireland championship, when he was just 19, thrusting him into the spotlight. He also played basketball and professional soccer and signed for Shamrock Rovers in 1998.

In the trailer for the programme, Sherlock also admits to the “shame” he feels over his relationship with his father, recalling the phone call from his uncle where he was told, “Jason, it’s your dad. He’s been murdered.”

The fascinating documentary is set to air on Sunday, December 30 at 9.30pm on RTE One.
