Watch: Heartwarming Scenes As Liam MacCarthy Brought To School

It has been almost a month since the Limerick hurlers claimed the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the first time in 42 years with a sensational performance against Galway.

Since then the county has been revelling in the celebrations with tens of thousands lining the streets of Limerick to welcome their hurling heroes back to the banks of the Shannon.

The cup has not entered a single pub in Limerick since the August 19th victory but it has been making the rounds to the various clubs and schools.

This morning, former pupils, Gearoid Hegarty, Brian Geary and Paul Kinnerk, along with Seán Finn, arrived to Milford National School in Castletroy, much to the delight of the students who were decked out in the Limerick colours.

Gearoid Hegarty and Sean Finn were both rewarded with All-Star nominations last week following their stellar performances’ this year. Brian Geary and Paul Kinnerk are both part of John Kiely’s coaching team.
