The draw for the 2020 Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cups has taken place as UCC go on the hunt to retain their titles in both codes.
Last year’s Fitzgibbon Cup winners UCC have been drawn in Group C alongside Cork rivals CIT and last year’s semi-finalists, NUIG.
This year’s group of death sees 2017 winners Mary Immaculate College drawn against nine-time champions WIT, as well as LIT and DIT.
Group A sees 2018 champions UL face DCU who the Limerick side beat in the final in Mallow. Also in the group are Maynooth and Trinity College. The final group sees UCD, IT Carlow and GMIT go to battle.
Meanwhile, in the Sigerson Cup, UCC will take on NUIG in the opening round. The side last met in the 2019 semi-final when UCC edged out the Connacht side after a highly-entertaining affair.
Last year’s finalists St Mary’s will open their campaign against Maynooth while 2018 champions UCD face off against Ulster University.
